Tackling TB among under-served populations (USPs) is one of the key areas for action identified in the Collaborative TB Strategy for England. This resource has been developed to improve the understanding of the health needs of USPs with TB; to support the design and delivery of multi-agency programmes and services to better meet those needs; and ultimately to reduce the health inequalities associated with TB among USPs.
This resource considers the following as under-served:
- some migrants groups
- people in contact with the criminal justice system
- people who misuse drugs and/or alcohol
- people with mental health needs
- people who are homeless
This resource makes many useful recommendations on how TB Control Boards and their partners can better meet the needs of the under-served with TB, illustrated with numerous exemplars of good practice from across England.
